Since August of 2009, Grant has been the associate head women’s hockey coach & recruiting coordinator at the University of Vermont and has coached girls/women's hockey for the past 18 years at the NCAA D-I, D-III and U15/19 Tier I levels. He started coaching girls/women's hockey at Lake Forest College back in 1995 where he helped coach the LFC Club Team. He then spent the next 6 years coaching at the Team Illinois Girls Hockey Association as a head coach at the U15/19 age levels. In 2001 Grant returned to coach at Lake Forest only this time as an assistant coach with their NCAA D-III Varsity team. Two years later in 2003, Grant moved on to the Division I coaching ranks as an assistant or associate head coach at 3 different NCAA Division I schools - Wayne State University (2003-2007), The University of North Dakota (2007-2009), and currently The University of Vermont (2009-Present).

Grant has an extensive camp administrative background, as he was instrumental starting the Michigan Regional Girls Development Hockey Camp and is heavily involved with coaching at various USA Girls National Development Camps. He spent 2 years as Director of Operations for the official youth hockey camps for the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL and the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers of the NFL. Grant founded Green Mountain Development in 2011 in conjunction with the Vermont State Amateur Hockey Association in an attempt to help improve opportunities for girls playing in Vermont & beyond.
